So I'm standing in line at my local neighborhood Post Office. The one on Pennsylvania Ave. Yeah the one between 6th and 7th ST SE. Anyway so parking there isn't the greatest, so I pass by a couple of double parkers. (stupid, very stupid) So I turn the corner and find a spot. I walk to the PO and get in line (which is an experience.) So I'm standing there and this guy behind me is attempting to start a conversation with a lady behind me who works at the LOC but is failing miserably. No, he wasn't trying to pick her up, he was just one of those guys that would talk your ear off if you stood there long enough. Anyway so this older lady comes into the PO and says "Who's blue car is double parked?" And this lady in front of me who has a black razor blade tatoo with the Wu-Tang clan in the middle says, "Mine, why?" First lady responds saying there is a guy giving you a ticket. So razor wu-tang lady walks out in a huff while this guy behind me says don't worry we'll save your place in line. Thankfully I was in front of this guy otherwise I would have protested. I mean I've been parked and a double parker parked in front of me. I was pissed when I was trying to leave. So in my mind I legally parked to pick up a package. I can understand if you're double parking if you're just dropping off an envelope or something that doesn't require any more than 45 seconds to do your thing. Anyway I'm getting ready to get up to the counter and the lady comes back and cuts in front of the guy who said he would save her a place. The good thing was is that she got a ticket. The price of doing business on Capitol Hill the guy says. Now I agree the ticket faries here are a bit aggresive in nature and I've gotten my share of tickets, but that's the risk you run when you double park and STAND IN LINE AT THE POST OFFICE. I mean you need to budget at least 15 minutes just to stand in line at this PO just because they do things at their own pace (which is why I hate going to this PO, but that's another post.) Just a rant.

Here I am. Starting fresh and new. Let's hope it lasts.
